USING BLOGS IN ENGLISH CLASS.

The Blogs are like personal more simple Web Sites, but they are easier to use. One has to open an specific email account and create a blog.

By doing this operation, our personal space in the Internet is abailable for us to upload any kind of information or images, and also for others to see it or read it.

This is why using the Blog method to practice the English Lenguaje is very usefull.
The teacher can upload in his or her Blog the work and the lesson for each class, and the students will enter to the teacher`s Blog and download the info. It is an usefull, easy and fase tool for the teacher.

Now, the teacher must do good use of it by encouraging his or her students to write and post texts about interesting subjects.

Inside this tool`s menu, one can have a list of our favourite sites or other blogspots of our preferente, like our friend`s. This way one can click on the Word and make a link.

It is important that not just the teacher reads and make a comment on one post, but also the classmates should do it to improve their spelling and/or note the mistakes others do.

We`ve talked about the advantages of racticing English writing through Blogspots, but these also have some disadvantages, and teh first one , and this happens with the Internet, is that peopleloose that real and live connectyions with others, and this affects human relationships.

I reccomend to work with Blogs at the English class followed by a spelling checking.

Swings and Cloths

The spider, the mermaid, the nest, the "x", the flag...and more, are some of the poses and tricks one can learn in eight months. I am talking abouth fixed trapeze and tissue.
These aeric techniques consist in making poses and movements on a static trapeze or a hanging large peace of cloth that are hanging from the cilling. The trapeze performing art began in 1856, when Julius Leotard, in Paris, France, invented this kind of swing and started to fly in the circus shows. Later some acrobats started to make tricks in a static or fixed trapeze.

The strenght acrobats need to perform these two arts is very special. They need to stretch very well . The kind of acrobats that practice this technique have a very strong abdomen, strength in their arms, good balance and a knowledge in her own body like most of the acrobats, who most of the times, are also dancers, or malabarists or clowns.
Usually the performances are compained by music, and the result is a astonishing show. The same is with the tissue, that is a large piece of tissue (folded by the half, so you hva etwo parts) that hangs from a distance of 6 m aprox., and acrobats also perform tricks in it.
Fixed trapeze and tissue can also be realized by more than one person. There are some nice shows performed by two or even four acrobats.

So, one can always experiment a little bit of these techniques, ending up with somegood results. And I say so because from April 2008, I have been practicing tissue and trapeze in Centro Arte Alameda, and this month we end un our course with a BIG SHOW.
Some of my classmates are Dancers, some study Law, and I do Fine Arts and this is the funny and interesting thing, because in spite of this, all of us have our own speciall touch and style and perfomed very well the fist night of the show although none of us are professional.

This was last Saturday at the same Cine Arte Alameda, at 8 pm. We had prepared some coctail for the guests and had wine also. The place was full and every one was paying attention to the eight acts performed by us....who were very nervious.

The Invitation now is to our first Artistic Tour on November the 29th (2008). It will take place in the hills in Putendo, in the V Region of Chile. Putaendo is 20 min. far from the city of San Felipe, and is a very pacefull and nice small town, in El Llano, where we will innagurate the new Aeric Circus zone with our Night Show.

I hope people get interested in these two old but unknown thechniques.
Go and enjoy the night with our outside spectacle of trapeze and tissue.

¡vamos a brincar! (let´s jump)

Exactly. Why this guy Ken Robinson, in a big conference, can do his speach and joke at the same time, making it more entretaining?... And at the same time, at University and school they teach us to be so formal, not to play with serious things, etc. . One can be a genious at one´s interests, and make jokes at the same time. Speaches dont have to use those words that we do not understand, wich is usually what people like to do to appear more intelligent. I think there is no need to do so.

When I turned 20, I asked myself. How many things that I learned in primary school am I using now?. How many things I understand just now, and how many things I still do not understand?. Schools do not want the students to get together and work as a team. They separate us and make children work by themselves.

In terms of creativity, what can I say. Teachers and parents are the first who turn off the creativity of a child. Television is the number one to do so, and few people do something to change it. It is sad when I see a frind of mine, who studied to be a teacher, and calls donkey to a little boy... Or teachers who, thinking they are helping their children, they do all the job or give them the easyest way to solve the problems.
I say, "my daughter is not a highly gifted, but almost". And it is not because I am the mom, it is just that she impresses me by doing things I never thought she would do, and by learning and remember things in a very special way. I think all the children have the means to grow up and become great proffesionals in any area, but the adults have to understand and learn how to help the boys and girls to do it.
I must say Mr. Ken inspired me to work with kids and promote (promove) the creativity since children.

bare-footed

On august 2000, she went to the North of Chile, Iquique. It was when they were together, they were gonna have a baby, but you couldnt see that yet. She was too thin. Anyways, his mom decided to go and visit a good friend and the family. The three traveled by plane for 3 hours and soon were far from Santiago. The family they visited was very happy to meet them. They had two nice boys who played all the time. In Iquique the weather was nice and the landscape so spectacular that made her feel good right away. The City made her remember the place were she was from, her bourn country, the Indigeneus woman sitting on the floor on the street, selling little mountains of chili, garlic, ect., with their children, bare-footed. The smell of that...that.

It was more than a year sinceshe didnt see those things, or even remember them, she was easy to forget some smells, some pictures, some feelings. She also wanted to go into the see, swim a little bit, but they just put their feet into the water and sat on the beach for a long time. The weather wasnt good, besides she was pregnant, it was dangerous.
One day they went to visit a ghost town. It was very nostalgic. She thought it seemed a city to play because everything was small, the little theater, the swimming pool, even downtown was made for few people. The small hospital, the bank and all the places were small. The atmosphere was special, it was nice, but at the same time she felt weird it was like nothing she had seen before.
In the town of Pica, she looked for lemon ice-cream like crazy, but never found a place that would sell it. They had mango ice-cream, it was ok.
They visit La Tirana, nice town too where there is a very beautifull church with some little stars painted on the silling. very cute.
At last they traveled through the desert, another new experience for her.

They spent about 10 days. It was an amazing trip. The North of Chile is wanderfull, she thought, now I have to visit the South.

THIS IS NOT AN ARTIST

This is the PICTURE of an artist; and by the way he is looking at the camera, he is not a normal person, I would say he is a mad man, he is crazy, like most artist.
People are not wrong when they say "artists are crazy", although some of them are not, they always seem to be or at least pretend to be so. Its good for their fame, it gives them more personality.
Anyhow, artist often see the world with eyes some other people dont.
And this view is like the one they teach us at the University in the Arts Carrear.

For example: If I am stearing at a woman´s breast, believe me!, I am not thinking on sex nor anything of the kind. What my mind is thinkinking of, and this happens to most of my classmates, is of weight. My eyes follow the lines that construct the form of the human body and I draw lines in the air sketching movement. This fascinates me, believe me.

I think this is why I think I can understand Pollock, dripping more and more paint to canvas ion the floor, or Maggrite, questioning himself the concepts of representation, or even Andy Warhol, repiting popular pictures and making them art, and selling his image as an "modern artist", etc.

Art is a form of expression, and EVERY ONE express themselves in many ways, is just that some people express themselves and linke to make everybody know about it. I can not say I like this or that artist. My view of the contemporary art of our times is that it most be a one that conjugates politics and social sciences into it, and this because our societies are getting more individualistic making forget about our own race.

......this will follow.....

Banking crisis timeline (what was happening in Santiago, Chile)

Friday September 12
Supermrkets started the "18th of September" Celebration sales. The meat was the first item that starts with the high prices, followed by the chicken. Some one roccomends me to watch the BBC news.
·····································
Saturday September 13
This weekend is the last one before the meat prices go up and up. People heard something about some crisis in the USA, but they are still thinking on buying a Paz Froimovich appartment.
······································
Sunday September 14
Politics said that Chile won´t feel any reaction for the USA Bank crisis. Believe it or not.
·······································
Monday September 15
If you were selling cement for the building enterprise, you just lost at least 10 clients. Even though Santiago is becoming a city full of big buildings, does not means that is growing as a city. The demand of apparments is not as big as the quantity of appartments they are making.
····································
The BBC or the bbc

Tuesday 16
Some people are paying attention to what happens to the USA, but most of us don´t understand. Do not worry, just call your friends to check if they are comming to the bbc.
··································
Wednesday 17
Believe me, this crisis is all about "fake money", I mean, big quantities of money that only exist on the computers. In fact, right now I can send you $2000,000,000,000.......
··································
Thursday 18 CARRETE!!!!!!!!!!!, CHI CHI CHI, LE LE LE, Viva Chile!!!!!!!
··································
January 2009
Impossible to find a job. That crisis that began in Sept. 2008, now is showing Chile how vulnerable we are. Good luck for the 2009!
