Swings and Cloths

The spider, the mermaid, the nest, the "x", the flag...and more, are some of the poses and tricks one can learn in eight months. I am talking abouth fixed trapeze and tissue.
These aeric techniques consist in making poses and movements on a static trapeze or a hanging large peace of cloth that are hanging from the cilling. The trapeze performing art began in 1856, when Julius Leotard, in Paris, France, invented this kind of swing and started to fly in the circus shows. Later some acrobats started to make tricks in a static or fixed trapeze.

The strenght acrobats need to perform these two arts is very special. They need to stretch very well . The kind of acrobats that practice this technique have a very strong abdomen, strength in their arms, good balance and a knowledge in her own body like most of the acrobats, who most of the times, are also dancers, or malabarists or clowns.
Usually the performances are compained by music, and the result is a astonishing show. The same is with the tissue, that is a large piece of tissue (folded by the half, so you hva etwo parts) that hangs from a distance of 6 m aprox., and acrobats also perform tricks in it.
Fixed trapeze and tissue can also be realized by more than one person. There are some nice shows performed by two or even four acrobats.

So, one can always experiment a little bit of these techniques, ending up with somegood results. And I say so because from April 2008, I have been practicing tissue and trapeze in Centro Arte Alameda, and this month we end un our course with a BIG SHOW.
Some of my classmates are Dancers, some study Law, and I do Fine Arts and this is the funny and interesting thing, because in spite of this, all of us have our own speciall touch and style and perfomed very well the fist night of the show although none of us are professional.

This was last Saturday at the same Cine Arte Alameda, at 8 pm. We had prepared some coctail for the guests and had wine also. The place was full and every one was paying attention to the eight acts performed by us....who were very nervious.

The Invitation now is to our first Artistic Tour on November the 29th (2008). It will take place in the hills in Putendo, in the V Region of Chile. Putaendo is 20 min. far from the city of San Felipe, and is a very pacefull and nice small town, in El Llano, where we will innagurate the new Aeric Circus zone with our Night Show.

I hope people get interested in these two old but unknown thechniques.
Go and enjoy the night with our outside spectacle of trapeze and tissue.

¡vamos a brincar! (let´s jump)

Exactly. Why this guy Ken Robinson, in a big conference, can do his speach and joke at the same time, making it more entretaining?... And at the same time, at University and school they teach us to be so formal, not to play with serious things, etc. . One can be a genious at one´s interests, and make jokes at the same time. Speaches dont have to use those words that we do not understand, wich is usually what people like to do to appear more intelligent. I think there is no need to do so.

When I turned 20, I asked myself. How many things that I learned in primary school am I using now?. How many things I understand just now, and how many things I still do not understand?. Schools do not want the students to get together and work as a team. They separate us and make children work by themselves.

In terms of creativity, what can I say. Teachers and parents are the first who turn off the creativity of a child. Television is the number one to do so, and few people do something to change it. It is sad when I see a frind of mine, who studied to be a teacher, and calls donkey to a little boy... Or teachers who, thinking they are helping their children, they do all the job or give them the easyest way to solve the problems.
I say, "my daughter is not a highly gifted, but almost". And it is not because I am the mom, it is just that she impresses me by doing things I never thought she would do, and by learning and remember things in a very special way. I think all the children have the means to grow up and become great proffesionals in any area, but the adults have to understand and learn how to help the boys and girls to do it.
I must say Mr. Ken inspired me to work with kids and promote (promove) the creativity since children.
